Cleaner Design
Pack-In - The Packaging Indicator tool for eco-design simplifies the task of assessing the overall environmental impact of packaging and enables comparison of different packaging options, presenting results in both graphical and tabular formats based on six parameters: recycled content, recyclability, product/pack ratio, volumetric efficiency, embodied carbon and transport.

Examples of companies that have saved hundreds of thousands of pounds by introducing low-cost Eco-Design principles, like Devon-based Burts Potato Chips (CS618), who identified £200,000 of savings by reducing the density of their packaging and optimising product quality controls.

DesignBox is a new online forum for designers or people involved in product or packaging design. DesignBox users are able to chat in a secure area about eco-design challenges, meet new contacts, and ask Envirowise's experts for advice on saving money and the environment through sustainable design.
