Scotland’s water industry has experienced significant change since April 2008 when competition was introduced into a previously monopolised market.

By introducing a competitive market into the industry; creating lower prices, improved services and increased innovation, Scotland has the opportunity to provide, not only an economically efficient, but an environmentally sustainable service that benefits the entire nation. At a time when the Scottish Parliament is debating a potentially world leading Climate Change Bill, the future of managing Scotland’s water supply in the face of economic and environmental crisis is a debate that the water industry must engage in.

Envirowise will be exhibiting at this event and can advise businesses looking to change their water supplier and also assists those with any water related issues.  All delegates are welcome to visit our water expert at the Envirowise stand who will be available to discuss any water and or resource efficiency issues.

This year’s annual Holyrood Magazine water conference will provide the forum for that debate at a time when the Water Industry Commission for Scotland has completed the price review from 2010-2014.

This event will look specifically at:

• Exploring the link between water and energy
• The true cost of water and how Scotland can deliver sustainable water systems
• The role all stakeholders and customers can play

This event will offer a unique opportunity to hear from, and engage with, key players in the industry. Speakers will discuss the impact of competition in the retail market and how it can benefit Scotland economically and environmentally as well as looking at best practice examples from the public and private sectors in water efficiency and exploring how these can inform improvements elsewhere.
