Envirowise will be hosting an evening event in conjunction with Highlands and Island Food and Drink Forum and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Businesses within the Food and Drink sector are urged to prepare themselves for the forthcoming waste reductions targets from Scottish Government, put in place to achieve the ambitious 42% reduction in CO2 set out in the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009.

This FREE practical workshop will give you advice and tools on how to begin implementing resource efficiency measures within your business through low or no cost means.

Delegates will hear presentations on issues facing their sector along with local case study examples and what free support is available before participating in a practical workshop closing with dinner and networking.

This FREE workshop will discuss issues facing the food and drink sector signposting to support available, allowing you to prepare your business for change and to reduce the use and waste of resources to reap both the financial and environmental benefits.

56% (1) of businesses in Scotland do not currently monitor their water usage, this is costing organisations an sum of over £363 (2) million per year.

Few businesses identify water as a raw material that is paid for twice - to receive it and to take away the waste.  Simple actions can lead to substantial savings that go straight to your company’s bottom line.

The practical workshops will take delegates through the process of reading water meters in order to pull together a water mass balance provide delegates with practical advice on how to get started, from measuring current resource use to planning an environmental management system tailored to your business objectives.
