Manufacturers located in the South West are invited to take part in our Cost Reduction Masterclass, a series of workshops designed to significantly cut your costs and improve your environmental performance. 
Up to 5 FREE workshops: October – December  2009 – Woodbury, Devon

Who should attend?
All companies from the manufacturing sector can benefit from these cost reduction workshops.  Each workshop tackles a different part of your resource costs – energy, raw materials, water, time and effort – and improves your reputation.
Which of your team should attend each workshop? 
Accountants, operations managers, designers, product and design engineers, design solution providers, product line managers, facilities managers and environmental representatives would benefit from any of these - ideal team members are suggested below.

16 October: Reduce your Energy Costs: Energy procurement, efficiency and management - Facitities, operations managers or accountants.
28 October: Reduce your Materials Costs: Waste, packaging and design - Designers, facicitites and productions managers
13 November: Productivite and Competitiveness: Manufacturing excellence ( includes a MAS site visit to each eligible business ) - Operations, production, quality and general managers.
25 November: Reduce your Water Costs: Water efficiency and management ( includes FREE site visit for South West Water customers ) - Facilities and operations manager.
10 December: Environmental Management: EMS, environmental law - Environmental, EHS and quality managers.

Why should I attend?
Each interactive workshop is led by recognised experts in their field, engineering, design, production, EMS and environmental law, and will culminate in your own action plan to make cost savings. 
Envirowise experts will lead you through each interactive session with plenty of chances to discuss issues, ask questions and make enquiries for further support. 
Typical cost savings from this Masterclass will be in the order of £20,000 per business.

Extra Support
Additionally, some eligible delegates will be able to take advantage of specific support services:
South West Design Programme (SWDP) – up to five days of support from Designing Demand Advisers to help eligible businesses design your product, service, packaging and communications.
MAS - South West – free site visits for eligible manufacturing sector SMEs to encourage leaner manufacturing and subsidised follow on support can be provided.
SW Water – Customers of SW Water can sign-up for a free onsite water audit from SW Water.

Practical advice on the day
This is your opportunity to identify new cost saving opportunities for your buildings, processes, products and packaging and to recognise the ‘quick wins’. 

For each workshop ideally bring the following with you to make the most of the session:
Energy - a sample of your gas/oil and electricity bills
Eco-design and waste - a fully packaged product in the condition it leaves your site.
Water - a sample of your water bills
EMS – your environmental policy and legislation register (if you have one).
