University reduces costs through commitment to saving water - CS571

First published March 2006

This Case Study describes how the University of Glasgow has saved nearly £500,000 in the ten years since beginning a long-term water minimisation campaign. Cumulative water/effluent savings of over 329,700 m3 have been achieved through right sizing meters to reduce fixed charges and reducing water use by domestic applications, science departments and building services. A BigSplash visit from an Envirowise advisor has provided the impetus for further significant savings.
