The benefits include: first year cost saving of £32,782 achieved through optimised copper and silicon use, a potential cost saving of £35,000/year through a number of energy saving initiatives, energy consumption reduced by 291 kWh per tonne of product through the installation of a new oxy-gas burner, an estimated cost saving of £2,100/year through reduced salt use and a potential cost saving of £2,900/year through reduced lime use.
