Managed shopping centre reaps benefits from waste minimisation strategy - CS919

This Action Profile outlines the benefits to Gunwharf Quays Managed Shopping Centre of reviewing its waste reduction practices and policies to reduce waste and make cost savings. Strategies implemented resulted in: an increased rate of general waste recycling from 24% to 48%; improved glass collections from around 200 tonnes/year to around 600 tonnes/year; 12 tonnes/year of polythene collected for recycling; and a total of around 1,300 tonnes/year of waste diverted from landfill.
