Almost three-quarters (73%) of businesses say they have developed a more detailed knowledge of their spending and resource use as a result of the recession.
Better management of raw materials, energy and water have been prioritised.
And this 'thrift shift' is set to continue, with around 80% of respondents citing resource efficiency measures among possible legacies of the recession.
