Tomorrow (Wednesday 21st February) offices across Scotland are invited to take part in One Bin Day – a campaign which urges companies to remove all except one bin from the workplace, for the full working day.
The experiment is designed to get the Scotland's 1.9 million-plus office workers to re-think the way they deal with waste.
If every office in Scotland takes part, the 'redundant' bins would match the height of the Wallace Monument, over 6,800 times.*

* Based on the height of an average waste paper bin (25cm) multiplied by 1,905,000 office workers in Scotland (Source: ONS). One bin per person equals a height of 476,250metres divided by the height of the Wallace Monument which is 70 metres (= 6,803 times).
