Industrial Symbiosis

Industrial symbiosis is most easily described as "One mans waste is another mans raw material" . Using their knowledge and expertise the team brings together companies from all business sectors to improve resource efficiency through the commercial trading of their wasted resources.

This almost invariably saves both companies involved money as Envirowise works to divert waste out of costly landfills and into more useful end products . To date , this approach has managed to divert over 5 million tonnes of previously landfilled resources into higher value end uses , saving it’s members over £130 million.

Activities in Wales is focused on larger waste streams (> 300 tonnes per annum) as this makes the resources more viable for others to use as a consistent raw material.

If you have a "waste" that you think others may wish to use contact your Envirowise Regional Manager.
